Top three.

I’m a notoriously nosy person when it comes to beauty products. I want to know whether you double cleanse at night, how often you wash your hair and exactly what you’re using. I want to know if there’s some special facial tool or pair of tweezers that have (hyperbole warranted) changed your life. I want to know what curl definer you use and which lip balm you swear by.

In short, I adore products. This is why I’ve asked some of our favourite Australian and New Zealand beauty experts to share the ‘top three‘ products they can’t live without. The scope is broad – it can genuinely be anything, as long as they’re the three they value the most.

Joining us this week is Melbourne-based makeup artist and hair stylist Georgia Gaillard (GG). Known for her polished editorial work for local labels like Cleopatra’s Bling, Jungles Jungles, All Is a Gentle Spring, Perks and Mini and more, GG has a discerning eye for all things beauty and I’m dying to know what products she rates the most.

Product one: Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick Sheer Tint

How did you first discover this product?

My friend Thalea Michos Vellis handed it to me and said: Try this!

What is it, what does it do and why do you love it?

It’s a lip balm with a sheer tint. I love it because it keeps you hydrated, protected (SPF 15) and the tint is just the perfect amount of colour for a natural makeup. My favourite tint is the shade Plum however there’s another three or four colours.

Where would you find it and who would you recommend it to?

You can buy it from Myer, Mecca and Adore Beauty. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants hydration, protection and a sheer tint. I believe one of the colours could suit any skin tone.

Product two: Glossier Stretch Balm Concealer

How did you first discover this product?

I have always heard it’s good but I never buy a product if I can’t try in real life first, otherwise I ended up with so much I never use. When Glossier launched at Mecca earlier this year, I went in to try a few products and instantly fell in love with the Stretch Balm Concealer.

What is it, what does it do and why do you love it?

I love this concealer because of its consistency, it literally stretches over the skin and covers the under eye area beautifully without grabbing on the skin, which can be quite dry in that area.

Where would you find it and who would you recommend it to?

I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a light feeling, hydrating concealer  – they have a huge range of shades to suit any skin tone. You can find it at Mecca.

Product three: Oribe Balm D’Or Heat Styling Shield

How did you first discover this product?

I discovered this product in the years I spent assisting the most brilliant hair stylist, Lok Lau.

What is it, what does it do and why do you love it?

As the name would suggest it’s a heat protector in balm form. I love it because it’s versatile, it can be used on most hair types and it’s also a beautiful light styling cream for curls or waves.

Where would you find it and who would you recommend it to?

Anyone who wants to protect their hair from heat damage, tame frizz, enhance texture and add shine. You can get this from Adore Beauty. and Rogue Beauty.

Keep up with GG’s incredible artistry, here.
